MITO RESTAURANT [ BRANDING & INTERIOR ] SHANGHAI, CHINA

LOCATED in what is now one of the most popular dining/drinking enclaves “Found 158” on Julu Road, Mito has a distinctly modern relaxed feel, with a dining room in pastel pink.Several partners originally from Italy have created this modern Italian restaurant/bar with many Italian elements that aren’t so straight up Italian cliché. You will not find Italian flags, or the colors of red, white and green claiming the pride of “Made in Italy.” The team smartly tailor-made a pink Venetian terrazzo, which is a traditional Italian material that used to be installed in churches as flooring and is now very trendy. Rattan is used for the sofas and ceiling, giving a South European feeling while the marmorean tiles are used on some walls which are typical of church or monument facades. The typical European/Italian materials are used in different way, thus creating a rather refreshing vibe rarely found in the city’s many dining venues. Mito wants to make some of these old Italian elements contemporary and modern. It’s a more intimate yet young and modern Italian restaurant.
