SUMMER SOLSTICE PALE ALE ABV 5.0% IBU 12.7 [夏至 ]
After a day outside in the heat of a Yunnan summer, thereʼs nothing better than this refreshing pale ale to quench your thirst. Lychee and peach lead the way, keeping you cool even through the hottest of days and nights.
DAMAI BELGIAN WIT ABV 5.1% IBU 12.4
The name means a Dai minority girl, 傣族妹妹 . Dai-inspired flavors are shown in its sourness, tart lime, and fresh mint. This is a beer that has exceeded our expectations at every step. Initially we weren’t sure how it would be received so we brewed a test batch of 100L. That sold quickly, so we brewed a 1/2 batch on the big kit, 500L. That flew out the door again, so we brewed a full 1000L batch. Sequential fermentation resulted in a balanced sourness that comes through more as lime than the traditional lactobacillus sour. Sourness zings on your tongue and the fresh mint flavor cools you off in the end
BETWEEN THE LINES 5.3% IPA [话中有花 ]
Subverts expectations that IPAs have to be massively bitter and alcoholic. It’s a clear 5.3% IPA with clean bitterness and plenty of hop character, but the notes are brighter than some of the dank American-style IPAs, making it refreshing and sessionable. Name is a play on a Chinese phrase, “话中有话”, which literally translates to “the space between words contains more words”. More figuratively it implies a hidden depth, something that’s more than meets the eye. We added some wordplay by changing out the last character for 花, a homophone that means flower instead of words, and in the context of beer implies hops.
ON & ON HAZY IPA ABV 4.8% IBU 26.1
This bright and tropical hazy IPA has a lasting aftertaste with a lot to say! With three hop varieties and clear notes of passionfruit, the fruity yet balanced IPA will keep you wanting to drink on & on… & on!
BANNA COLADA [ 版纳菠椰 ]
From xishuangbanna, Yunnan’s tropical south, known for their pineapples . Another beer with big flavors that was unexpectedly welcomed by customers. Made for a legendary pool party. Very soft on the palette and drinkable despite it’s 7%+ ABV because of residual sugars and a bit of lactose to round out the flavors. Has an unbelievable coconut aroma
